My artwork titled Holiday Dreaming, was created using collage skills with paper and then detailed with acrylic paint. In class, we had been learning about the Indigenous artist Bronwyn Bancroft. We used her work as inspiration to think of a place in Australia that is special to us. I chose to recreate Yarrawonga and my memories of times spent with my family on the Murray river bank. The two figures remind me of walks along the riverbank with my Nan who lives in Yarrawonga. I made the sun so large to represent how hot it can get over the summer. When I look at this artwork I feel happy and filled with fun memories of times spent in Yarrawonga.
