I have tried to capture the whimsical nature of story book illustrations even though the etched print is quite dark and holds a touch of mystery. My piece reflects childhood innocence a well as the looming darkness of the past and the overshadowing of adult responsibilities. I have been successful in my use of inspiration from Ana Juan and artists/illustrators alike through the exaggerated facial features.
