Tell us a bit about yourself and your background. How did you end up at the School of Dentistry?
I completed my DDS at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, one of the top dental schools in Iran. After graduating, I worked as a family dentist in deprived and border communities, providing care for disadvantaged children and families. These experiences strengthened my passion for improving oral health outcomes and inspired my interest in research. I later pursued graduate studies at the University of Alberta, beginning as an MSc student and then transferring into the PhD program under the supervision of Dr. Maryam Amin. The School of Dentistry’s supportive research environment and interdisciplinary opportunities have made it an ideal place for my academic and professional growth.
