1 pound pork sausage (breakfast sausage like Jimmy Dean or homemade)
16 oz frozen hash brown potatoes ( 4 cups)
1 - 14 ½ oz can chicken broth
2 cups water
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups milk
Brown sausage in large Dutch oven, stirring until crumbles and is no longer pink.
Add potatoes, chicken broth and water. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in soups and milk, cook, stirring often until heated through.
I add milk and then soup, one can at a time, and stir until soup is melted into all. Sometimes I serve with Cheddar cheese to top it.
