Take a walk in your student's shoes! During the Open House, you will have the opportunity to:
Meet the Teachers: Put a face to the name and say hello to your student's teachers!
Discover the Curriculum: Learn about class expectations, course syllabi, and what your student will be learning this year.
Understand Policies: Hear about classroom management, grading expectations, and reassessment policies.
Stay Connected: Learn the best ways to contact teachers, including their email addresses and conference availability.
Share Information: Have an opportunity to communicate any of your student's special needs.
Counselors: All school counselors will be stationed in the Large Commons to answer any questions you may have.
Please Note: Open House is designed as a brief meet-and-greet to introduce you to the classroom. While it is not intended for private parent-teacher conferences, our teachers are more than happy to schedule a personal appointment with you for a later date!
We are so excited to partner with you this year. See you there!

We Need Your Help!
The State of Michigan budget provides funds to reimburse meal costs to school districts for breakfasts and lunches served to Michigan’s public school students this upcoming school year. Please complete the Education and Nutrition qualification form online HERE, download a copy HERE, or complete it at your child’s school open house or complete and return the one arriving to you by mail next week.
Although families won’t have to pay for meals, they must still complete qualification forms for their local school. Completed forms allow schools to qualify for meal reimbursement from the state as well as funding for;
Instructional specialist staff (ex. Reading Interventionists, Math Tutors, Academic & Behavior Aids)
Teaching supplies and materials
Counselors and Social Workers
School Nurses
Professional Learning for staff
Parent and Community engagement supplies and activities
Technology for students
There will be Kitchen Staff at Open House to help process any forms or questions you might have.

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
Student Climate Team will be trained to conduct peer mediation for students who are in conflict with one another. The goal of having peer mediation at AHS is to help create a more positive culture in our school where both sides win and one party doesn't feel as if they are being treated unfairly. Please see Mr. Robarge in Restorative Center (School Success) if you need help resolving an issue. Peer mediators don't take sides or place blame on anyone!
