Kyle impressed staff while participating in a college visit. He asked questions of the presenters and held doors open for both staff and students. He also helped foreign exchange students learn how to ice skate for the first time. These excellent manners are what make AHS a great place to be!

FIRST Robotics Program, Team 5505 - Volts Squared Fundraiser
Team 5505 has qualified to compete at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas 6 years in a row. We are hoping to compete again this year.
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is all about building students' skill sets for future STEM careers. Each year it is so fun to watch our team work together to problem solve and use their skills to build an amazing robot.
We are looking for donations to help our program, team and robot move through this season.
You can donate using this link or drop off funds at the AHS Main Office.
National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day is February 15th!
The SRO assignment is unique within the law enforcement profession. These officers fill a three-part role, serving as informal mentors or counselors, law educators and law enforcement officers to support the students and communities they serve. They are valuable and essential members of the education community who earn our respect and support as they play a vital role in keeping schools and students safe.
The holiday we know today got its name from a man named Valentine. While a few different stories are told about what he did to inspire the holiday, many people believe he’s celebrated for his role as a Roman priest who helped couples secretly get married. As the story goes, Emperor Claudius II of Rome—who reigned from the year 268 A.D. to 270 A.D.—banned marriage because he thought unmarried men made better soldiers. Valentine thought this was unfair and decided to break the rules and perform marriages anyway. He kept the ceremonies quiet, but he was eventually caught and later killed on February 14 of the year 270 for defying the emperor. Right before he died, Valentine supposedly wrote the first-ever “valentine” to his jailer’s daughter, with whom he’d fallen in love.
