EMPOWERING 21ST CENTURY GRADUATES
Congratulations on your selection New NHS Members!
Continuous Learner is a the trait of that fits all of the students inducted into the National Honor Society last week. It is with their Ownership (Take personal responsibility to drive their own learning), Resilient (Approach problems with a growth mindset), Passionate (Pursue and expand areas of academic and personal interest) that pave their way as leaders within the building. We look forward to see where their journey leads them and what they do can improve AHS and the community of Alpena.
Congratulations on your Induction!

Financial aid is awarded and accessed through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Reach out to me for assistance with filling out the FAFSA or any other questions- 989-358-5243, deckerb@alpenaschools.com.

Senior Lounge
It's back!
In an attempt to continue to push for student personal responsibility and seeing all the good things that can come from student choice, The Senior Planning Team presented me with a plan to bring back the Senior Lounge. We have found that the space is able to be used for senior students as a place to call their own as they have witnessed of their predecessors the years before. I shared what was and was not acceptable in the room and they all agreed that it would work for the senior students; it is open to all seniors and all should feel welcome. The window painting will remain up identifying this as a senior spot, so to speak.
Please speak to your Senior Planning Team members as they will lead up this area and project to ensure that it does not become a mess and problem for our custodians. I look forward to seeing you make it your own and then hand it off to the juniors at Senior Experience Day.
It is so awesome to see the school spirit continuing to grow and make AHS a student centered school!
