This week’s Wildcat Way is Mr. Adams! Mr. Adams' commitment to his students and his job is second to none. Last week, Mr. Adams was in not one, but 2 car accidents, and made it to school each time. Not only did he make it to school, he also had a smile on his face and was happy to be here.
Congratulations Rob Adams on your Selection...

Reminder to keep your grades up if you want to attend Winterfest activities! On Monday, February 3rd we will run reports and generate a list to determine eligibility to attend Winterfest. There may not be many grades in the grade book, so please remember to turn in assignments and keep your grades up at the start of the new semester!

We will have drinks and small refreshments for sale, and all students get one water free with your ticket.
We will have a coat check for any coats and bags; you cannot bring any of them with you into the dance, so please check them in and check them out before you leave.
Attention all students
It's Spirit Week! Leadership reminds all students that, while this week is meant to be fun, the AHS Code of Conduct must still be followed. If you don't think you should wear or do something this week, you likely shouldn't. If you aren't sure, please talk to your administrators or Mr. Thatcher, the Leadership teacher. Let's all do our part to make this a fun and exciting week for all!

Items To Review
Progress Reports
To continue with strengthening our connection with families and support student success, AHS continues to issue Progress Reports twice each semester. These reports aim to foster positive conversations between teachers, students, and parents, particularly for students who may be struggling. The Progress Reports will be provided at the 6-week and 12-week marks each semester, giving students time to improve their grades and demonstrate their learning.
Report Distribution and Dates:
Progress Reports will be distributed during students' 2nd-hour class.
The first report will be sent home onFebruary 25, 2025.
Future report date is April 23, 2025.
These reports will include grades for all of your child's classes. While they do not need to be returned, they are intended as tools for family discussions to celebrate achievements and address any areas needing improvement. This proactive approach helps prevent semester failures and ensures students remain on track for graduation.
Teacher Support: Teachers will also take time to speak privately with students within two days who may need additional help, such as those with failing grades, significant grade drops, or those who could benefit from extra support.
We encourage all families to review these reports together and engage in meaningful discussions to support your child's academic progress.
Counseling
National School Counseling Week 2025 is Feb. 3-7!
Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the recognition of school counselors during the first full week of February each year highlights the tremendous impact they have in helping students achieve success, in school and beyond.
Our AHS counselors are a highly qualified, student-centered group who work together to help all of the students at our school reach their potential - academically, socially, and emotionally. They work with our teachers, administrators and parents to focus on positive ways to enhance our students' school experience, and we appreciate them all!
Please join us in celebrating National School Counseling Week by taking a moment to thank your child's counselor!

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
Student Climate Team will be trained to conduct peer mediation for students who are in conflict with one another. The goal of having peer mediation at AHS is to help create a more positive culture in our school where both sides win and one party doesn't feel as if they are being treated unfairly. Please see Mr. Robarge in E110 (School Success) if you need help resolving an issue. Peer mediators don't take sides or place blame on anyone!
