Attendance Calls Begin This Week!
Attendance calls start this week. If your student has an unexplained absence (a parent/guardian did not report the absence), you will receive an automated phone call at the end of the day notifying you of this. If your student is absent, please excuse your student's absence by entering it into ParentVUE or calling the attendance office the morning of the absence.
You can also report your student attendance on ParentVUE and avoid the phone call to the office. If you are having trouble accessing it, please as Mrs. Tessmer or Mrs. Manning (Main Office Switchboard).
Up North Prevention is proud to announce that the new Students Leading Students coalition has met and a game plan is underway to help those who suffer from mental illness. Please watch for great things from this group!

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
PEER MEDIATION
AHS now has trained student peer mediators to help solve conflicts between students! If you are in conflict with another student, please see me in Room E110 or you can e-mail me at robargeb@alpenaschools.com Remember, peer mediators are trained not to take sides or place blame on anyone.
