WELCOME TO OUR NEW STAFF AT AHS
Cara and her husband, Jeremy, have been part-time Alpena residents since 2011. They are both extremely excited to finally join the community full-time. Cara enjoys being outside with her two labs, reading, traveling, and creating mixed artwork. The best thing about Alpena? Woods and water and a culturally active town with the friendliest people EVER! She loves the Sunday Polka-ing at Brown Trout and definitely the Tony Burgers. Welcome to AHS, Cara!
Elizabeth is a 2017 graduate of Gaylord High School and earned her undergraduate mathematic degree from Michigan Technological University. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, baking, and anything film related.

SENIORS MOVING ON TO ALPENA COMMUNITY COLLEGE-- TIME IS RUNNING OUT! FREE MONEY!!
In reviewing local scholarships to ACC, I am sad and shocked that we have received only 7 applications from AHS seniors to date. In recent past years, we would make scholarship awards to 40+ AHS seniors at your annual awards night. It is mindboggling to me that now we are only receiving applications from 7 students.
The ACC Foundation has more than 225 scholarships that provide in excess of $235,000 each year to all kinds of students.
The scholarship application process is all electronic this year and doesn’t take long to complete. Students do, however, have to first apply for admission at ACC and then contact our IT Help Desk to receive their ACC email address which is their login for the scholarship application. This process can take 1-3 days so student need to get started today.
Please contact Mrs. Brenda Herman at ACC with any questions. 358-7297 or email: hermanb@alpenacc.edu
The application can be found here: https://discover.alpenacc.edu/admissions/future_students/scholarships.php
