The AHS fans stepped up huge for all the teams this year; in the past weeks, they have been beyond stellar. The large number of students and positive culture showed at every event is outstanding. In talking with the players and coaches, they all cannot thank you <THE FANS> who made the post season play the best ever.
Congratulations to all spectators for showing Wildcat Pride!
Go Cats!
I was born and raised in Alpena and have lived here most of my life. After graduating from AHS, I attended ACC and then MSU. I was a Case Manager/Job Placement Coordinator at ACES Academy for nearly 20 years. I have been with TRIO at ACC before accepting the position with NEMSCA as AHS School Success. Some of my interest are collecting vinyl, cross country skiing, and paddle boarding on Grand Lake. I am excited to join the team at AHS and look forward to starting on Monday. Go Wildcats!
Thanks for showing up to every class, and showing up on time. Enjoy those Campus Closet gift cards Caleb Beegan, Olivia Goodrich, and Lillian Golbeck!

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME GOVERNMENT FOR TOMORROW
Nick Lusardi will soon advance to make Alpena history as the youngest person to serve on a local government board. In October 2021, Alpena’s DDA voted to create a nonvoting student position on its board and collaborate with the Michigan nonprofit, Government for Tomorrow (govfortomorrow.org). The organization’s mission is to help cities and schools create student positions on local government boards. GFT presented the opportunity in Alpena High School classrooms, and soon after, the organization’s Selections Committee read applications and conducted interviews. Nick Lusardi will receive Government for Tomorrow’s stamp of approval and recommendation to the City of Alpena. Nick is expected to be officially appointed to the DDA by City Council in the coming months.
If Nick is officially appointed, his role will be to represent the youth voice in Alpena DDA decision-making. He will be expected to bring his opinion from a unique perspective as a student and conduct polls to represent the student consensus to the best of his ability.

Exploring Career Pathways
~Amy Attwell, Career Navigator~
Career & Technical Education students shined on March 4th as they presented to the students of Hinks Elementary at the school's Career Fair. The CTE students did an incredible job explaining their program to the elementary students. They used an array of displays, equipment, products, games, tools, and hands on interaction to educate the students on their program trade. CTE spent the entire day hosting multiple sessions presenting to kindergarten through fifth grade. Their adaptability to change their approach from grade level to grade level was nothing short of amazing. They represented CTE and AHS with pride. Great job to all of you - Nicholas Schalkofske, Gianna Bolda, Paige Timmreck, Nicole Lucas, Hunter Ballor, Jillian Pilarski, Jeremiah Anderson, Nick Lusardi, Chloe Rapson, Ethan Leatzow, Hunter Hiltzelberger, Cooper Bright, Mia Lenning, Noah Wilson, Austin Simon, Colyn Hansen, Michael Hart, Garet McQuarrie, Johanna Eller, and Alison Borowski.
