EMPOWERING 21ST CENTURY GRADUATES
Congratulations on being chosen:
Rotarian Student of the Month
John Short
To be chosen as the Rotarian Student of the Month, a student is selected based upon three main characteristics: Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. John is a member of the AHS Leadership Class, AHS Football Team, and is actively involved in community events where he volunteers. John and his parents will be invited for the monthly Rotarian Luncheon where they will be honorary guests and presented with John's award. Thank you, John, for making AHS proud and for what you do to make this world a better place. We appreciate you!
Students who took the ASVAB can stop in the F-HOUSE office to pick up your test results. A meeting will be scheduled with students in December to review the results with the test administrator from the military.
Testing out will take place on December 1st right after school in the AHS Media Center. Those who are taking more then two tests will arrange for another day with Mr. Studley to take the test.
Starting Monday: After School Tutoring!
We will be offering tutoring assistance after school starting this Monday (11/28) for all AHS students! This will be staffed by AHS teachers and assistance can be provided in any subject. Tutoring sessions will be held in the Media Center from 2:45 to 3:45pm every Monday and Thursday that students have a full-day. Specific information for each week will be posted in student announcements. Students do not need to sign up in advance and students are responsible for their own transportation. Please contact Mr. Pattison @ (pattisonj@alpenaschools.com) if you have any questions.
A reminder that the Scholar-Athlete Award deadline is Friday, December 3, at 4:00 p.m. There is still time for your student-athletes to apply!
Below are the most frequently asked questions:
What is the access code? The access code is scholar2022 (There are no spaces and it is all lowercase.)
If it says the student is not eligible DO NOT make another account, please verify they have entered the correct code and then paige@mhsaa.com.
How do I upload letters of recommendation?
When the student gets to the Letters of Recommendation task of the application process they will select whether they want to: 1) upload the letters themselves, or 2) request that recommenders upload their own letters.
IMPORTANT: After making this selection they need to click “Mark as Complete.”
Once they click "Mark as Complete" a fourth task will populate which will allow the applicant to upload the letters themselves or enter the email addresses of the recommenders.
If any recommenders have trouble accessing their account or uploading the letters of recommendation, email the letter(s) directly to Paige Winne – paige@mhsaa.com. I will then upload the files for them.
Some people have not received the email verification. If you are not receiving the email verification or the recommenders are not receiving their invite complete the following steps:
Add these emails to your email contacts: noreply@mail.smapply.io, noreply@smapply.io and paige@mhsaa.com.
Resend the verification email and/or the recommenders invitation. Be sure to check your spam and junk folders.
If this still does not work have the student and/or recommenders email paige@mhsaa.com, do NOT make another account.
