Advisory Paperwork
~ Parents ~ Please help
Your students received four documents on Tuesday that needed parental attention and need to be returned to the Advisory teacher in a timely manner.
Please review these documents with your student and return them Tuesday. If you have any questions, please contact us.
You may choose to use ParentVue to correct directory information that may need editing.
Dress Code ~ Parents, We Need Your Help!
The letter attached was the message that we used last spring to help, as dress code was an issue as the weather warmed up.
Admin found great support in reaching out to parents focusing on personal perspective "as to what they believe to be acceptable dress in school."
As we started out with warm weather and this week is looking warm, it is a great opportunity to discuss the letter and dress code with your student. Please take time this weekend to review our letter and determine what you see as "appropriate for school" and what you can do to help support the "dress that is geared toward what students should wear in the workforce."
We do have clothing that students can access in the AHS Clothing Closet located in E House; students are sent there when necessary. In no way do we want any student to feel humiliated or uncomfortable; students are also welcome to call home for a change of clothes.
Principals/Dean will be calling home when necessary and hope to find support at home. We look forward to teaming up to make school dress code a collaborative effort.

Alpena High School Honor Guard
What will they do?
The AHS Honor Guard will perform ceremonial duties such as presenting the flag at football games, and sporting events for the high school. It will lead parades and be part of school assemblies to teach students the importance of the flag and how to treat it with respect and honor.
Why?
In the 21st century, students have seen a decrease in understanding the importance of respecting the tradition of the American Flag. The Honor Guard will work to instill the long-standing tradition of respecting the flag and its importance in ceremonial events.
