This week's Wildcat Way is our Behavior Tech Mrs. Heikkuri! Mrs. Heikkuri is located in the Restorative Center, and promptly addresses student concerns and works with staff regarding matters with students. She has been an integral asset to our team, and makes AHS a better place!

Freshmen are orange, sophomores are yellow, juniors are blue, and seniors are red. Deck out in your colors and take home the Spirit Jug!
Each class is responsible for decorating a hallway and a mural the day before the assembly; start getting your supplies and ideas together now! Your sponsors are:
Freshmen: Ms. Poli, Ms. Corwin, and Mrs. Kurowski
Sophomores: Ms. Dietz and Mrs. Johnson
Juniors: Mrs. Brownridge and Ms. Dec
Seniors: Mr. Kieliszewski and Mr. Skiba
Sponsors will receive copies of the rubrics and your gift cards at the beginning of next week; the priority now is to get your theme set in stone!

Attendance Office Information
Call to excuse your students!
Please remember Parents ~ You can call and excuse a students' absence or late arrival to school and avoid the Robo call home. If your student needs to be picked up early, you can do the same procedure. To make sure that your student gets the message, please call early. If it is preplanned, it would be great to have your student alert the teacher in advance, so he/she will watch for the email from Attendance. Students can sign out in the Attendance Office when they leave.

Picture samples and School ID’s will be handed out to students during their 2nd hour on Monday. If you are an online student or got your pictures taken and did not receive your ID, please stop in to the Attendance Office to pick up your materials during passing time or your lunch.

Counseling Corner: October is Michigan College Month! Seniors should apply to at least 3 colleges by mid-October.
Don't forget: College Night will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Bring family and friends to talk to over 50 college representatives, military reps, banking reps, and more!

The Student Climate team at AHS is all about spreading kindness throughout the APS district. If you are someone who cares about kindness and acceptance, this is a club for you! We do lots of outreach to the elementary schools and the middle school, it’s lots of fun and it makes our school a better place to be!!!

Sign up for the ASVAB if you are interested in exploring career options, including jobs serving in the United States military. AHS will be offering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) on Tuesday, November 5th! There will not be a makeup session for this test. The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
Payment is past due for the NMSQT/PSAT National Merit Scholarship Test. Please see Mrs. Manning in the Main Office to turn in the $20 fee.

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
