Items To Review
This week new members on the Student Climate Team will be trained to conduct peer mediation for students who are in conflict with one another. The goal of having peer mediation at AHS is to help create a more positive culture in our school where both sides win and one party doesn't feel as if they are being treated unfairly. Please see Mr. Robarge in E110 (School Success) if you need help resolving an issue. Peer mediators don't take sides or place blame on anyone!
Students that arrive late to the building, must stop in the Attendance Office to sign in, even if it is during your lunch hour. Parents still should call or message the Attendance Office to excuse these late arrivals/absences.
Parents if you have a student that needs to leave early please call ahead, so your student can sign themselves out and wait for your arrival.
The Chromebook Sign in and Sign out keeps everything quick and confidential.
McKinney-Vento Act
The McKinney-Vento Act is a federal law that provides support and protections for students experiencing homelessness. It ensures that these students have equal access to the same public education as other students, including transportation to their school of origin if needed. The Act also requires schools to identify and enroll homeless students, and provide them with services to help them succeed academically, such as free meals and school supplies. The goal of the McKinney-Vento Act is to remove barriers that homeless students face in accessing and completing their education.
Please visit www.nem-mv.com for more information on McKinney-Vento Resources.
Please contact Mrs. Tessmer for any questions or information that you may have.
