CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SELECTIONS
COUNSELING CORNER: For students who have selected Dual Enrollment on their schedule for next year: You will need to set up an appointment with your counselor after spring break to select the specific class(es).
We are almost at the halfway point of the semester..... how are your grades? Don't wait too long to get back on track. Talk to your teachers about your grades and make-up work. Remember there is tutoring after school Monday and Wednesday in the Wildcat Den. Many teachers will stay after school to help you if you make arrangements in advance.
Parent/Teacher Conferences -- Thursday, March 9th - 3:00-6:00pm
No School for students on Friday.
We are excited to welcome all parents to visit with our teaching staff, counselors, administration, School Success, Behavior Tech, and Dean. I hope that you all take full advantage of this opportunity to meet face-to-face with staff. The teachers will be in the Gym 1 & 2. We will have information at the greeting table for parents.
We will NOT be printing schedules.
Please review the ParentVUE videos below which is how you can access your student schedule. Our team will be located at the entrance at the Wildcat in front of the Auditorium when you arrive if you need anything or have questions.
Are you new to ParentVUE? Watch this video to see an overview of all the features. The features are the same for TBJH and AHS. If you need an activation key, please call the school.
Activating my ParentVUE account - call AHS for an activation key.

How to get notifications vie the ParentVUE app for my child's attendance and grades.
If you have an online class and are in the building during that hour, you MUST have the yellow pass displayed. If you haven't received your pass, stop in the Restorative Center (E103) to pick yours up. If you do not have this displayed, we will assume you are skipping class.

ATTENTION FRESHMEN PARENTS
Greetings, Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of the Class of 2026,
As a partner with Alpena High School, along with the students and families of APS, I recently had the honor to briefly meet with the Freshmen class.
I ask that you please take the next couple of minutes to watch the brief video included in this message regarding Class Jewelry information.
Order/Event Day will be held at school on Tuesday, February 28, during the Lunch periods.
Orders can be placed online* OR in person on Tuesday. In person order submission includes either the printed Order Summary page from the website, or by showing us the Order Number on their device, or by submitting the completed order form from the packet.
*Please note that if ordering online, the price that will appear in the Cart or on the Order Summary page will be the discounted price. Students who order online are still encouraged to stop by the Jostens table on Tuesday to have their order reviewed (if they would like), confirm their finger size with our metal ring sizers, ask any questions they may have, see some of our samples, or...just say hello!
*In addition, please note that this week's promotion is also valid for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors!

After School Tutoring!
We are continuing to offer tutoring assistance after school for all AHS students! This will be staffed by AHS teachers and assistance can be provided in any subject. Tutoring sessions will be held in the Wildcat Den (former Media Center) from 2:45 to 3:45pm every Monday and Wednesday that students have a full-day. Specific information for each week will be posted in student announcements. Students do not need to sign up in advance and students are responsible for their own transportation. Please contact Mr. Pattison @ (pattisonj@alpenaschools.com) if you have any questions.
OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
PEER MEDIATION
AHS now has trained student peer mediators to help solve conflicts between students! If you are in conflict with another student, please see me in Room E110 or you can e-mail me at robargeb@alpenaschools.com Remember, peer mediators are trained not to take sides or place blame on anyone.
