EMPOWERING 21ST CENTURY GRADUATES
This week's Wildcat Way is Caitlyn Pelto. Caitlyn displays Wildcat confidence and puts her best foot forward every day. She has truly grown this year. AHS is so proud of the effort she is putting into making her day the best it can be. She is always kind in class, shows pride in her work, and is always willing to greet others. Caitlyn is demonstrating increased confidence in herself, sharing her creativity with others, and contributing to learning in class. Way to go, Caitlyn!

With Prom Approaching, Student Council has arranged for an exceptional Pre Prom Assembly for May 13th which will feature guest speakers with timely topics. There is also going to be interactive activity for juniors and seniors → you can sign up in the Wildcat Den. Thank you Student Council for doing this.Â
Prom is quickly approaching! All eligible juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to buy tickets starting the week of May 11th. Tickets will be on sale for $20 in the Leadership room during all three lunches. A few notes for your information:
On a related note, no tickets will be sold at the venue. If you do not buy them that week, there will be no admittance Saturday night. If getting a ticket is a difficulty for you, contact Mr. Thatcher sooner rather than later.
This dance is for upperclassmen only; however, if you are bringing a guest, whether they are an underclassman or a non-APS student, they may buy a ticket ONLY after the approval of a guest pass. These can be found in the house offices and restorative center. Do not wait to do this! The deadline for guest passes will be Thursday, May 14th at 8:00am. Late requests will be denied.
With any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Thatcher

AHS Facebook Update: Changes to Photo Sharing
If you've noticed fewer updates on our AHS Facebook page over the past few weeks, please know I haven't forgotten to do them!
Recently, there have been changes to our posting guidelines as outlined in the Superintendent's Update on April 14th.
I am currently working with our Communications Director, Mr. Fitzpatrick, to get trained on this new process, so I can figure out the best way to share student highlights with you. While we won't be able to post the sheer volume of photos from the past, we are committed to finding a great solution moving forward.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we navigate this transition!

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
Student Climate Team has been trained to conduct peer mediation for students who are in conflict with one another. The goal of having peer mediation at AHS is to help create a more positive culture in our school where both sides win and one party doesn't feel as if they are being treated unfairly. Â Please see Mr. Robarge in the Restorative Center (School Success) if you need help resolving an issue. Peer mediators don't take sides or place blame on anyone!
