Parents and Guardians,
On March 9th, 2026, all 9th and 11th graders will participate in the MiPHY survey at AHS. This is an anonymous and valuable survey that helps us gauge the health our our youth in ours and surrounding districts. This survey is given every other year and the information is used to help us plan and deliver supports to all of our students.
Please view the notification form for more information, a list of frequently asked questions, or to opt your student out of the survey.

March is here and we are fast approaching the second half of second semester. Now is as good of a time as any to put your focus into grades. Are you struggling with content this semester, having trouble understanding an assignment, or do you just need a little help on a topic? Take advantage of the free tutoring sessions right here at the High School. Every Monday and Wednesday, right after school you can get help from AHS teachers. Check it out! It could be just what you were looking for.

2026/27 Scheduling To Do's
The past two weeks, students have had opportunities to hear from teachers from different departments about course offerings at AHS. Students have been given their scheduling sheets with the expectations that conversations are occurring at home as we get closer to the scheduling deadlines for Fall 2026-2027.

Parents, it is very important to review the Course Selection Guide and discuss with your students. There have been and will be a few more opportunities for students to ask our counselors scheduling questions (see dates below). Students with only an On-line English class should visit the Counseling Center.
Important Dates:
3/11-3/13: Students should be turning in their completed forms to their counselor during minute meetings or their English teacher. Make sure to input course requests in Synergy
3/11-3/12: Freshmen will be meeting with their counselor for a minute meeting to review scheduling choices during their English classes. Please make sure to bring a completed and signed scheduling form.
3/17: Deadline for requesting classes in Synergy
Specific Class Directions
Students who select Dual Enrollment on their schedule for next year: You will need to request an appointment for after spring break with your counselor to select the specific class(es).
Students who select Online on their schedule for next year: Circle 'Virtual Learning' on your course request sheet and choose the same in Synergy. On your sheet, write what class you are hoping to have online. You will then get information about an online form and due date for those before this year ends.

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
Student Climate Team are trained to conduct peer mediation for students who are in conflict with one another. The goal of having peer mediation at AHS is to help create a more positive culture in our school where both sides win and one party doesn't feel as if they are being treated unfairly. Please see Mr. Robarge in the Restorative Center (School Success) if you need help resolving an issue. Peer mediators don't take sides or place blame on anyone!
Have you ever wondered how our school lunch menus are created? Curious about what goes into deciding a snow day? Or perhaps you’ve been puzzled by terms like "collective bargaining agreement" or wondered why the district can’t purchase gifts for staff?
If so, we invite you to participate in our "ASK APS" initiative. This is your chance to ask the questions that matter to you. Each month, we’ll select questions that are intriguing, timely, or widely relevant to answer in the Superintendent's Update, Central Office communications, school newsletters, or even at Board meetings.
While we may not be able to address every question, we’re committed to answering as many as we can.
Please note: This form is not intended for questions specific to individual students or situations. For those, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher or principal.
