Happy Administrative Professionals Day to the incredible team at Alpena High School who consistently go above and beyond for our school community! From supporting our principals in all of the offices and managing the switchboard to keeping attendance & athlestics running smoothly, these extraordinary individuals are truly the backbone of our building and the glue that holds it all together. Day in and day out, they tackle countless tasks with grace and efficiency to ensure our school functions flawlessly. Their number one priority is always the well-being of our students and staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. Hair styles, dress, and accessories that pose a safety hazard are not permitted in the shop, laboratories, or during physical education.Â
Clothing that is revealing, suggestive or otherwise distracting (e. g, showing excessive skin and/or undergarments) may not be worn at school.
Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.Â
Clothing may not obstruct a student’s face.
If there is any doubt about dress and appearance, the building principal(s) will make the final decision. Students whose dress causes a substantial disruption of the orderly process of school functions or endangers the health or safety of the student, other students, staff or others may be subject to discipline.Â

Alpena High School Celebrates Strong Participation in State Assessments
Alpena High School 9th and 10th graders have successfully completed this year’s state assessment testing, and we’re proud to share that over 90% of our 9th and 10th grade students participated in the PSAT 9 and PSAT 10. That level of commitment speaks volumes about our students, their families and school community!
These assessments provide valuable practice and experience as students prepare for 11th grade testing. The effort and focus shown this year set a strong foundation for continued success moving forward—we have no doubt our students will rise to the occasion next year.
We also want to recognize the outstanding behavior demonstrated throughout the testing process. Students were respectful, focused, and responsible, helping create a smooth and positive testing environment. We are incredibly proud of how they represented Alpena High School.
 A sincere thank you to our families for your continued support. Your encouragement and partnership are the key to student success.

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
Student Climate Team are trained to conduct peer mediation for students who are in conflict with one another. The goal of having peer mediation at AHS is to help create a more positive culture in our school where both sides win and one party doesn't feel as if they are being treated unfairly. Â Please see Mr. Robarge in the Restorative Center (School Success) if you need help resolving an issue. Peer mediators don't take sides or place blame on anyone!
