82-16 Supplemental Budget

RESOLUTION 82-16

A RESOLUTION LOWERING THE BUDGETED APPROPRIATION OF THE PUBLIC SAPETY FUND FOR 1982-83.

WHEREAS, the May 18, 4982 Street Lighting Serial Levy proposal was submitted to the voters of Sodaville as an A levy, based upon a calculation of population growth and inflation multiplied by the A taxes for the 1979 base year, and

WHEREAS, The State Departinent of Revenue determined that the City Recorder in 1980 had miscalculated the 1979 base year A levy which rendered the calculations of A and B for 1982 invalid, and

WHEREAS, the State Department of Revenue determined that only $424 of the $1841 Street Lighting Serial Levy, passed by the voters of Sodaville in May 1982, was an A levy, and :

WHEREAS, The City of Sodaville will only receive $424 from the serial levy in 1982-83 but will receive the full amount of the levy in 1983-84 and 1984-85, and

WHEREAS , the City Council voted not to submit a B levy for street lighting to the voters at the September election for $1427, and

WHEREAS, street lighting cash carry forward, state gas money and a reduction in the number of street lights can balance the street lighting operating budget at a reduced level,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Sodaville hereby adopts the following appropriations for the Public Safety Fund:

TOTAL PUBLEC SAFETY FUND APPROPRIATIONS $3176.00

BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE TOTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR 1982-83 WILL BE DECREASED TO $50,431.00.
