What does a City do?

ORS 221.760 Service Certification:

The City of Sodaville is the elected government for the community of Sodaville incorporated in 1880. City governments in Oregon have a wide variety of responsibilities depending on population, revenue, and availability of other services. Sodaville maintains certain streets, operates street lights, maintains storm sewers, oversees planning, and provides water. The City also owns and manages two parks.

Sodaville officials are frequently contacted by other local, state, and federal agencies to discuss the impact of public policy on residents. City officials also reach out to other government entities to advocate on behalf of the City. Federal, state, and local law enforcement, along with other public safety agencies, liaise with the City to keep the community safe.
