ORDINANCE NO 92-3

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 82-8 TO PERMIT TEMPORARY CHANGE IN STATUS, OF WATER SERVICE ON CUSTOMER REQUESTS.

To amend Ordinance 82-8 THE CITY OF SODAVILLE ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1.

Section 14(1) is amended and subsection 14(5) is added to read as follows:

Section 14. (Discontinuance of Active Service)

(1) Customers vacating Property: Each home- owner about to vacate any premises supplied with water service by the Water Utility shall give the Water Utility written notice of his intentions at least seven days prior thereto.

(5) Temporary change in service status at customer request: Customers may make written request to the Public Works Department that the Water Utility temporarily change service to customer's premises from active to inactive. The request must be in writing, must be received at least seven days before the date requested for discontinuance, and must be accompanied by payment in the amount of $12.50. After service has been changed to inactive service no person shall restore service or make any attempt to restore service except in accordance with this ordinance.

Section 2.

Section 15. (Restoration of Service) is ammended [sic] by adding subsection (3) to read as follows:

(3) After a temporary change from active to inactive service at customer's written request, the customer requesting the change may make written request to the Public Works Department to restore active service. The request must be in writing, must be accompanied by payment of the restoration fee of $12.50.

Section 3.

Inasmuch as the provisions of this ordinance are necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, safety, good order, and public welfare of the citizens and inhabitants of the City of Sodaville, Oregon, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council and its approval by the Mayor of the City of Sodaville, Oregon.
