2022-2023 City Budget

The annual Budget process concludes this month at the June City Council meeting. The Budget Committee unanimously approved the Budget presented in may, and the Council will vote on adoption June 16th.

Digitizing Ordinances

Alongside the Budget, one of my main projects is digitizing City Ordinances and Resolutions. As of this month, all currently enforced City Ordinances can be viewed online!

Our ordinance website features City ordinances going all the way back to 1953. This website also has the City Charter, the proposed 2022-2023 Budget, and water Consumer Confidence Reports. City Resolutions going back to 1979 are also in the process of being digitized. Only documents currently in effect will be posted online, but all Ordinances and Resolutions still in effect may be inspected in person at City Hall. The biggest benefit of the digitization project is that antiquated, unnecessary, and misspelled Ordinances and Provisions can be updated or abolished.

In May we installed newer, more accurate radio water meters that allow the City to quickly read all of the water meters in town, and measure more accurate water usage. We expect water bills to increase as the result of better measuring. I continue to welcome your questions and concerns, so stop by at City Hall any time!
