We are writing because of a very grave issue to ask for your help. We need to know if there are any conventions that protect Employees in the US Ármy's right.
I am in the situation that my fiance is an American soldier now in 27 years. He is faithfully serving his nation and has been deployed several times. I know his character as a person and as a soldier is known as a brave and unselfish soldier in duty. He has been given 3 medals in US Army. He is a Ranger so he has Leadership responsibility in training men in the Afghan Security Force now in Northern Afghanistan.
In spring of 2014 he applied for his retirement from the US Army. That was granted him in writing in April 2014!
He has not yet been given his release date and send off home to me here in Denmark.
He has had NO VACATION IN MORE THAN 14 MONTHS and to me - he does not complain!!!! but to me that sounds as very unworthy treatment from US Army to a faithful soldier and to me as well.
As for his 19 Year old son in Florida I really find this is not caring about him.
We always read on Army web pages about their High regard for the sacrifices from Army families.
I worry because he is working without a vacation ! in a very tense nation, where they now are being troubled by ISIS on top of Taliban.
I am not a Ranger so of course I do not know to what extend a person can work safely for him or herself and mates. He has not asked me to write. I am worried and we have very very rare internet CONTACT. One day at March 27! he could go online. Then shortly yesterday June 9 and very briefly today JUNE 10 : "now let me return to my duties. I miss you ...."
He is a man with very high work morale and he is serving in the US Army for 27 years.
Why can he not be given his release to retiré and come home since ARMY granted him this in writing in APRIL 2014???????
Are there any conventions violated by US Army and NATO in his case.
He was granted his retirement. That is now 14 months ago. He and many more millitairy Employees ( soldiers) out there are retirees, and NOT given their Date of return home.
Are there no conventions protecting soldiers Rights????
They follow ordérs - so they have no voice. They cannot risk to ask for being respected as human beings!
Is my fiance not listed in Ármy's files - his retirement papers and vacation papers. He was to be on LAWFUL vacation September 2014 if Right should be Right and had he not been granted RETIREMENT IN APRIL 2014 I can't help thinking maybe he would have been respectfully given a vacation???? They must need his service since they will not release him to go home now after at minimum 14 months ...
Please help. I am sending this with help from our friend Lars Skov Krøgholt.
My fiance's name is
Ranger
Best Regards
Daniela Skov
