芝木 好子(しばき よしこ)は東京都出身の小説家で、戦後の女流文学を代表する作家の一人です。『青果の市』で、1942年に第14回芥川賞受賞、1981年に日本芸術院賞・恩賜賞を受賞しました。1966年に発表された『葛飾の女』は、日本画家への思慕を絶つために葛飾へ嫁いだ女弟子を描いた小説で、水元公園の界隈が舞台となっています。『葛飾の女』の一節を刻んだ文学碑が1988年に水元公園に建てられました。

Ms. Yoshiko Shibaki is a novelist, born in Tokyo, who is one of the leading writers of postwar woman novelists. She Received the 14th Akutagawa Prize in 1942 for "Seika no Ichi (vegetable and fruit market)", and received Award of the Japan Art Academy and Imperial Prize of the Japan Academy. Published in 1966, "Katsushika no Onna (woman in Katsushika) " is a novel about a female disciple who married in Katsushika to end her longing for a Japanese painter, as a setting of the around Mizumoto Park. A literary monument engraved with a passage from the novel was set in Mizumoto Park in 1988.
