『男はつらいよ』は、葛飾柴又と日本各地を舞台にした映画です。1969年(昭和44年)の第1作から全50作品が作られました。この中で48作品で主演をしたのが俳優の渥美清さんです。(最後の2作品は彼の死後に、それまでに撮影された過去の映像を使用して構成された作品)。渥美清が出演した全48作は、「一人の俳優が演じたもっとも長い映画シリーズ」としてギネス世界記録に認定されています。映画の舞台となった柴又の、柴又駅そばから帝釈天に続く参道の入り口に、渥美清さんが寄贈した常夜灯があります。

The movie "Otoko wa Tsurai yo (It's tough being a man)" is a movie set in Katsushika Shibamata and various areas in Japan. The first movie was released in 1969, total 50 works have been made. The actor Kiyoshi Atsumi starred in 48 works. (The last two movies were composed after his death using shot in the past.) All 48 works starring Kiyoshi Atsumi holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running movie series starring a single actor. In Shibamata where the movie was set, there is the allnight street lamp donated by Mr. Kiyoshi Atsumi at the approach to the Shibamata Taishakuten.
