【葛飾区指定史跡 | Katsushika City-designated historic sites】

鬼塚という名前の由来は不明です。塚の周辺から古墳時代後期の遺物が採集されたことから、古墳ではないかとも考えられていましたが、近年の発掘調査により、室町時代と江戸時代の二つの時期に築造された塚であることが判明しています。大きさは東西約13.9ｍ、南北約15.4ｍ、高さ約1.0ｍ(海抜)です。塚の上の石祠には「寛保二年壬戌七月吉日」と刻まれていたということです。鬼塚を囲むように公園が整備され、2021年3月28日に完成しました。

The origin of the name "Onizuka" is unknown. Because the relics of the late the Kofun period (tumulus period) were collected from the area around the mound, it was thought that it was an ancient burial mound. However recent excavations have revealed that this is a mound which was built during the two periods of the Muromachi (1336-1573) and Edo (1603-1868). The size is about 13.9m from east to west, about 15.4m from north to south, and about 1.0m (above sea level) in height. The stone shrine on the mound was engraved with "Kanpo Ninen Mizunoe Inu Shichigatsu Kichijitu" (Kanpo 2nd, Water Dog, unspecified day of July). The park is constructed to surround the mound and completed on March 28, 2021.
