葛飾区のセルロイド工業は、大正3年(1914)に故千種稔氏が設立した玩具工場「千種セルロイド工場」から始まり、この地域はセルロイド工業の街として繁栄しました。このモニュメントは昭和27年(1952)に建てられました。

The celluloid industry in Katsushika began with the toy factory "Chigusa Celluloid Factory" established by Minoru Chigusa in Taisho 3 (1914). The area prospered as a celluloid industrial city. This monument was built in Showa 27 (1952).
