【経済産業省 近代化産業遺産 | "Heritage of Industrial Modernization" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry】

閘門橋は明治42年(1909)に完成した、長さ30メートル、幅3メートル、高さ5.5メートルの水門です。洪水を防ぐために上流と下流の水量を調整するためのもので、当時最先端の水門でした。東京で唯一現存するレンガ造りのアーチ橋です。経済産業省の近代化産業遺産にも認定されています。

The Koumon Bridge completed in Meiji 42 (1909), length is 30 meters, width is 3 meters and height is 5.5 meters. It is sluice gate for adjusting the amount of upstream and downstream water to prevent flooding which is the most advanced water gate at the time. It is the only one existing brick arch bridge in Tokyo. This gate is also is designated officially as "Heritage of Industrial Modernization" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
