葛飾区堀切にある小谷野小学校開校は、昭和26年4月1日に開校し、昭和から平成に渡り多くの卒業生を送り出して来ました。平成13年4月に葛飾区小菅にある小菅小学校と統合し、50年の歴史に幕を下ろしました。閉校されても校舎はそのまま維持され、保育園やコミュニティ活動に利用されています。また、葛飾区観光フィルムコミッションとして映画やドラマの撮影に利用されています。

Koyano Elementary School, located in Horikiri, Katsushika-ku, opened on April 1, 1951 (Showa 26), and has sent many graduates from Showa to Heisei era. In April 2001 (Heisei 13), it was integrated with Kosuge Elementary School in Kosuge, Katsushika-ku, ending the 50 years history. The school building remains as it is after closed, and it is used for nursery schools and local community activities. It is also used for filming movies and dramas as a Katsushika City Tourism Film Commission.
