地球釜は、パルプの製造や古紙を再利用する際に使用される球形の釜です。この窯は、この場所にあった三菱製紙(株)中川工場で使用されていた釜で、現在はオブジェとして展示されています。

A "earth shaped" digester is a spherical melting furnace used for manufacturing pulp and reusing used paper. This digester was used in the Nakagawa Mill of Mitsubishi Paper Mills Limited at this location. It is currently on display as an object.
