伝五郎の松は、水元公園最大の巨木で、幹回りは3.3mあり、樹齢は200年以上といわれていましたが、マツノザイセンチュウ病よって枯れてしまい、2010年3月末に伐採されました。2015年4月、公園の開園50周年記念の際に、伝五郎の松の種子から培養された松が植樹されました。

Dengoro's Pine Tree was the biggest tree in Mizumoto Park, its trunk circumference was 33 meter, age was over 200 years. However, it died due to pine wilt disease (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus), so it was cut down at the end of March 2010. There was the ceremony 50th anniversary of Mizumoto Park at April 2015. In the ceremony, a young pine tree was planted which cultured from the original Dengoro's seeds.
