Coleta Planas

Coleta Planas is a Catalan author from Northern Catalonia. An educational adviser for the Catalan Language until 2016, she is the secretary of the Association for the Teaching of Catalan. 

As a writer, she’s been awarded the following literary prizes: the Francesc Català poetry prize in Perpiñán (1987), the Carles Grandó Prize (1991), the Sant Jordi de Perpinyà – Modest Sabaté poetry Prize (1993), The Joan La Cella Award (1992). The Perpignan Sant Jordi’s Night - Prose for Children Prize (1994), The Ginesta d'Or within the Perpignan Floral Games poetry Contest (1994). 

She’s also received the Sant Andreu and Eus Prize for a research study on Albert Saisset titled "Un Tal" (1997). In 2017 she received the prestigious prize Joan Blanca awarded by the city of Perpignan to the public figures standing out for the commitment to the defence of the Catalan Culture.
