Biography in English

Philippe PUJAS

Like all his known ancestors, Philippe PUJAS was born along the Catalan Mediterranean coast, on the French side. From his childhood, he has kept a liking for language diversity, the countryside and the sea, and for the sun and the wind; he later acquired a liking for cities.

As a journalist, he wrote for many years in the daily, national and regional press, then he created Policultures, a publication about cultural policies.

He wrote about regional life and about arts education and, in poetry, he is the author of three publications: Suds (1992, Guy Chambelland editor), Nature des dieux (2010, L’Harmattan), and Comme passe le vent (2020, La feuille de thé). Many years later, the years he spent in Ivory Coast as a young man serving his country remain a defining moment.

He has been involved all his life in community life and is now Vice-President of the French Pen Club.
