Dolors Jimeno is an author who writes in Catalan who was born in Valencia, where she lives. She has a degree in Pure Philosophy from Universitat de València. For her creation work, which focuses mainly on children and youth literature, she has received various prizes, one of which being the Joan Fuster (Almenara) of 1992. She has later received other prizes: the Ripollet (1993), the Alaior (1999), followed by the Molí d’en Xec, the L’Encobert, the Josep Miquel Guàrdia i Bagur, the Maig for short stories, the Ifach for short stories, the Conta’m Dona…

She has published many stories, among which "Virgínia", "Bàrbara", "La dona policroma", "Els cabells de la mestra", "La casa del notari", "Àlvar i Jean", "Intramurs", "Els desdejunis de Buenos Aires"... and various novels: Hostes (1994), Un edifici en forma de vaixell (2000), L’illa de l’amistat (2003) and Germans bessons quasi idèntics (2005) and Maig, deu anys de contes (2007). Her story “El Mirador de Meissen” was included in a volume called Contextos published by Grup 10.

Her most recent book, L'Europa que he visitat (2018), is a collection of articles in alphabetical order for which she specifies that "this is not a travel guide, but rather a sample of where my interest focuses". The declaration of intention "I like to travel with my eyes wide open" establishes the objective or a well-informed traveler who does not allow that neither the singularity of her attention nor the pleasure of the discovery be stolen from her.
