Biography in English

Elija Lutze is a translator from Bonn, Germany. He has been living in Valencia for ten years now, where he became interested in multilingualism and literary translation. After completing his degree in Translation at the University of València, as well as a couple of study visits at the universities of Catalonia ( UAB) and Colombia ( UdeA ), he has started working as a translator and as a language teacher. Besides he is writing his master's dissertation on Language Didactics. 

He has translated several scientific and literary texts into German, among them, Studying Religion: An Introduction by Russell T. McCutcheon, and into Catalan part of  Four Ways to Forgiveness , the collection of short stories by Ursula K. Le Guin. He is mainly interested in research in the field of socio-critical literature.

Nowadays, he is Reader in Catalan Studies in the Department of Translation at the University of Leipzig.
