At the Cathedral

AT THE CATHEDRAL

The sun of the North scorched the ground.  It was midday at the Cathedral.  Tatiana was afraid, but she would not chicken out. She had to dance and she knew it.

Slowly, on bare feet, she walked on the rough pavement.  It boiled.  The soles of her beautiful feet were hard and rough, but not enough for this.  The music started, and so the dance.  Without stopping smiling, even though the heat that fried the soles of her feet out, she began to dance.  Music guided her steps and she let herself go.  The rhythm she loved made her swirl and twist, moving her skirt gracefully.  She forgot about the pain on her feet, it didn't care anymore, all that mattered was dancing, dancing and dancing.  She loved marinera with a passion.

The music was over.  The beautiful girl, exhausted but smiling, greeted the audience and her partner and left as she arrived, walking barefoot on the hot pavement, on sore feet but happy.
