School Office Assistant - 10 Month

Salary Range: $12.72 - $20.35 per hour
Job Summary
To assist in the operation of the school office in such a way as to ensure the office’s
best possible impact on the public and its smooth operation for the benefit of its educational impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Answer telephone in a friendly, courteous manner and route incoming calls as needed
Greet visitors in a friendly courteous manner
Assist teachers and other personnel when they have questions or need help, if the person
with whom they need to speak is not available
Carry out office responsibilities as assigned by the school principal or his/her designee
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
· At least 21 years of age
• Possess a GED, high school diploma, or higher
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in computer use
• Able to multi-task
• Able to maintain a positive demeanor on the telephone and in the front office
• Detail oriented and maintain confidentiality
Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents and administrators.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Terms of Employment
This position is a 10 month (210 day) position. Salary to be established by the school board.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with School Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
