School Nutrition Manager

Salary Range: $17.02 - $27.24
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma, GED or higher
• Food service experience preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Bookkeeping skills
Reports to: Coordinator of Food Services
Job Responsibilities:
• Comply with required school division policies, health standards, sanitation procedures, and demonstrate knowledge of sanitation practices.
• Submit required reports to Food Service Office by specified due date.
• Practice good personal hygiene.
• Manage multiple tasks and use time efficiently.
• Prepare food according to planned menus, standardized recipes, established food preparation methods, and mandated nutritional requirements.
• Follow written and oral directions.
• Evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance and monitor temperatures at all times.
• Enter data in various computer software programs daily.
• Plan work schedules. Evaluate food service employees annually. Confer with Coordinaor regarding any personnel problems.
• Help prepare and serve meals on a large scale in a close fast-paced environment using safe food handling procedures.
• Promote school meals to increase student participation.
• Operate point-of-sale computer system during serving times. Make sure all monies collected are counted and deposited to the bank daily.
• Supervise food preparation and operation of serving lines.
• Provide training in all areas to food service employees to operate the cafeteria in the absence of the Manager.
• Be courteous and pleasant to all customers and co-workers.
• Supervise the daily cleaning and sanitizing of counters, equipment, utensils, dishes and tables.
• Clean storage, food preparation, and serving areas.
• Maintain highest standards of food quality, kitchen safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise and instruct personnel in the proper usage of equipment.
• Order food and supplies, receive deliveries, and issue purchase requisitions for all invoices.
• Store items in designated areas complying with temperature requirements and food spoilage guidelines.
• Report equipment problems of unsafe conditions to Coordinator of Maintenance Department.
• Maintain neat and accurate records for inventory and auditing purposes.
• Attend and participate in formal and informal training.
• Report to Coordinator any faulty or inferior quality food which is received.
• Exhibit the professional behavior of a reliable employee by maintaining confidential information.
• Perform custodial and dish room duties as needed.
• Follow attendance rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and conditions to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
