Automotive Technology Instructor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs in a high school classroom and shop setting presenting instruction in automotive technology repair functions. 

Qualifications:

·                      ASE certified or eligible to become ASE certified

·                      Eligible for a Virginia teacher’s license

 Reports to:                  Building Principal

 Performance Responsibilities:

·                      promotes a positive atmosphere within the classroom and shop setting conducive to optimal training, learning and motivation

·                      instructs students on care of automobile tools, their purpose and proper use

·                      instructs students on shop safety

·                      instructs students to perform major and minor automotive technology repair

·                      establishes and maintains a working relationship with auto industry to ensure training relevant

·                      secures instructional aids and materials as available

 Terms of Employment:  Ten-month year.  Salary to be established by the Board.

 Evaluation:

Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy and administrative regulations of certificated personnel.
