Job Summary
To oversee the operations of the School Division Facilities in an efficient manner as related to energy, utilities and custodial services. Additionally, this staff member will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all records for water/wastewater operations to ensure that all Federal, State, and Local regulations are compiled with on all projects involving Franklin County School Board property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To be able to operate and program the direct digital control systems that the school division uses for building management.
To interpret billing form all utility companies with regard to demand and use that information to reduce energy cost.
To inspect all facilities for safety, health issues and classified building materials per Federal, State, and Local regulations.
To make inspections, keep records and complete reports as required under all regulations for water/wastewater usage, underground storage tanks, and roofing systems.
To provide mandatory training for all Maintenance personnel in order to comply with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
To supervise the removal of classified materials according to safety regulations for the protection of workers in removal, disposal, and cleanup procedures.
To interpret schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and control operation of HVAC equipment and to assist HVAC Technicians with the proper operating sequence of HVAC equipment as it pertains to energy consumption and building scheduling.
To coordinate the installation, repair, and maintenance of all outdoor playground equipment.
To monitor and order all heating and on road fuels required for normal operation at school facility locations.
To coordinate with principals and building administrators in regards to custodial personnel to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
To attend appropriate meetings and conferences and strive to keep technical skills up to date.
To perform work and duties outside his/her area of expertise when directed to do so due to emergencies and higher priorities.
Minimum Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must be proficient with the use of computers and computer related programs.
Must have the ability to comprehend Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Must have demonstrated leadership ability in previous work experience.
Must complete required training and qualify for necessary specialized state licenses.
Must have a minimum four (4) years of experience in HVAC controls and diagnostics.
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.

Terms of Employment
This position is a 12- month position. Salary to be established by the Board.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with School Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
