JROTC Instructor

JOB DESCRIPTION –  JROTC INSTRUCTOR

The JROTC Instructor provides in-depth instruction to the cadets on the principles of leadership and management.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least a bachelor’s degree or higher.

• Must have a minimum of 20 years of active duty.

• Must be a retired Air Force officer.

• Experience working with youth groups, preferred.

• Must hold or be able to obtain a Virginia teaching license.

Reports to:  School Principal

Performance Responsibilities:

• Plan and support drill competitions.

• Plan and support marksmanship events.

• Plan and support academic competitions.

• Plan and support community service activities.

• Provide in-depth instruction on principles of leadership and management.

• Provide career and performance counseling for JROTC cadets.

• Other duties as may be assigned as appropriate for the program.

Terms of Employment:   Ten-months a year with the salary to be established by the Franklin County School Board.

Evaluation:   Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations which address evaluation of certificated personnel.
