Adult Ed English Instructor (Part-Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION – ADULT ED (PART-TIME)

The Adult English Instructor will provide English instruction to limited English proficient adult students. 

Reports to: Coordinator of Adult Education

Qualifications:

·         Hold a Virginia teaching license

·         Teaching experience in the classroom, tutoring or related field work

Requirements:

·         Computer and reliable internet

·         Curriculum development

·         Evaluation of students’ progress

·         Accurate maintenance of all students’ records

·         Collaboration with colleagues

·         Must be flexible and able to work with adult students at various entry educational levels.

·         Teaching settings include one-on-one, small groups and large groups of students.

·         Must be able to work effectively with adult students from different cultural, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.

·         Must have considerable instructional experience, preferably in an adult environment.

·         Expected to develop skills through professional development and maintain certifications as mandated by the VDOE’s Office of Career, Technical & Adult Education (OCTAE).

Terms of Employment:  Salary and conditions to be established by the Franklin County School

Board.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
