VALLS Tester (Formerly PALS)

Job Summary

This position will administer the VALLS (formerly PALS) literacy screener to students in grades K-3 during the Mid-Year 2024, Spring 2024, and school year 2024-2025 assessment windows. 

 

Mid-Year 2024:  January 2, 2024 – February 2, 2024

Spring 2024:  April 22, 2024 – May 17, 2024

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Will work with the Student Intervention Specialist (SIS) to ensure screening requirements are met by all students in grades K-3 following the VALLS
      assessment calendar

·         Will individually administer the VALLS screener to students in grades K-3

·         Will document and enter assessment scores into a database

·         Possess substantive organizational skills

·         Possess excellent communication skills

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

·         Possess a GED, high school diploma, or higher

·         A Bachelor’s Degree, and VDOE teaching license preferred

·         Successful completion of a 3-6 hour online training

Terms of Employment

Part-time, grant funded, up to 30 hours per week, through the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

A range of 30-60 days as defined by the assessment window for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. 

A range of 30-120 days as defined by the assessment window for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with School Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of personnel.
