Regional Adult & Career Education Center Secretary / Assistant
Job Title: West Piedmont Regional Adult & Career Education Center Secretary / Assistant
Primary Function: Clerical support to the Director of Regional Adult Education
Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age
High School Diploma, GED or higher
Proficient in Microsoft Word (Proficient in Excel a plus)
Reports to: Director of Regional Adult Education
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Answer phone calls/questions concerning all aspects of adult education
2. Refer students for program assessments
3. Prepare and mail correspondence
4. Process payments for supplies, invoices
5. Monthly/quarterly reports
6. File, update & maintain teacher information as needed
(adult ed certifications & trainings)
7. File, update & maintain regional information as needed (daily)
8. Certified Pearson VUE test center proctor
9. Assist regional students with registering for Official GED Test as needed.
10. Maintain regional accounting and reimbursement records
11. Purchase requisitions/purchase orders
12. Invoice agencies for student fees
13. Ensure that invoices get forwarded to correct department for payment
14. Maintain and order supplies as needed
15. Set up for meetings and in-services
16. Process monthly payroll
17. Maintain yearly data on adult student credentials of West Piedmont
Region Adult Ed
18. Participate as program representative for job/career/resource fairs as
needed
19. Liaison to partner & participating agencies as needed
(clinicians, case managers, court officials, etc.)
20. Maintain regional grant information (log books, invoices and supporting
documents)
21. Maintain & update regional and state contact information
22. Maintain time and effort for all employees
23. Be proficient in Microsoft Word; proficient in Excel a plus
24. Other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment: Salary and conditions to be established by the Franklin County School Board.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director of Adult Education in
accordance with the School Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation
of personnel.
