TITLE:                                Clerk of the School Board

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

    Post-secondary education preferred

 

    Computer and word processing skills

 

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

    Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform work independently

 

    Ability to deal with public relations problems courteously and tactfully

 

 

JOB GOAL:           To assist the School Board by executing expeditiously the instructions of
                                the Board so that the Board may devote maximum attention to the responsibility of policy formation.

 

 

REPORTS TO:      Division Superintendent

 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    Give public notice for all School Board meetings

 

    Prepares the meeting room for School Board meetings and attends meeting held in public session

 

    Prepares monthly School Board agenda and takes responsibility for delivery to Board members

 

    Maintains a high level of confidentiality in and outside the office

 

    Attend all school board meetings

 

    Keep a record of all board meeting in the form of minutes

 

    Write and disseminate board resolutions and other communications as directed

 

    Prepare correspondence, make travel arrangements, do research, call reminders, and perform any other tasks as needed for board members

 

    Assist the Superintendent in the preparation of meeting agendas

 

    Maintain the BoardDocs database with meeting agendas and information, as well as related news items and Superintendent’s weekly communiques to board members

 

    Oversee and maintain all school board records

 

    Performs such other tasks and such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Board and Division Superintendent from time to time

 

 

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT:    Part-time twelve month year.  Salary to be established by the board

 

 

EVALUATION:      Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance
                                with the provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of
                                personnel
