TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – PLUMBER
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To maintain the installation, maintenance and repairs of the plumbing system and fixtures in the school plants and in all other school board buildings and to assist in other projects as directed due to emergency and priority needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
2. Must have a minimum four (4) years of experience in residential, commercial or industrial plumbing with a plumbing contractor.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Maintenance
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To take responsibility for all phases of the plumbing system and fixture repair and installation.
2. To assist the Supervisor in expediting materials for projects and warehouse stock, according to priorities.
3. To assist the Supervisor in developing and maintaining the most efficient system for dealing with repair problems, major renovation projects and other tasks.
4. To cooperate with principals, teachers and custodians in any way feasible to keep from disrupting the instructional program.
5. To develop and maintain good work habits with punctuality, effective use of time, safety, thoroughness and teamwork.
6. To clean up the work area and always leave it a safe environment for those who use it; remain alert to any hazards that might jeopardize the safety of others.
7. To attend appropriate meetings and conferences and strive to keep technical skills up to date.
8. To perform work outside his area of expertise when directed to do so due to emergencies and higher priorities.

EMPLOYMENT: Salary and conditions to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy and administrative regulations of evaluation if classified personnel.
