Family Liaison - Attendance (Benjamin Franklin Middle School)

Job Summary

This position will work with families whose children are at-risk for academic failure and are in danger of being classified as chronically absent, but who are not involved in the truancy process. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Identify and assists in eliminating obstacles to regular school attendance

·         Work with the family to develop attendance success plans

·         Link families with community resources

·         Assist administrators and school social workers with home visits and contacts as it relates to student attendance issues

·         Maintain consistent contact with parents of students with attendance concerns

·         Monitor student attendance progress throughout the school year

·         Maintain documentation of contacts made with parents and students with attendance issues

·         Performs other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment

This position is a 10 month plus 20 days (220 day) position.  Salary to be established by the school board.

This is a 1 year only, grant funded position that will expire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. 

Reports to the Student Services Administrator

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with School Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
