Coordinator of Secondary Learning Center

Job Title: Coordinator of Secondary Learning Center - 11 month position

Primary Function: To coordinate, supervise and provide instruction for students who attend the Secondary Learning Center (SLC).

Qualifications:

1. Administration degree required

2. Have a minimum of five years of recent successful school experience. Secondary or Special Education experience preferred.

3. Good communication skills and work habits

Reports to: Campus Principal Benjamin Franklin Middle School

Primary Responsibilities:

1. To coordinate and supervise and develop climate in the Secondary Learning Center

2. To provide and to supervise the  instruction to students attending SLC

3. Work with administrators regarding discipline issues 

4. To assist para professionals with strategies and techniques to help students having difficulty academically and behaviorally

5. To communicate with teachers regarding expectations in submitting work in a timely manner

6. To ensure that 504’s, IEPs and BIPs are being followed 

7. Work with Transportation Dept. to coordinate busing needs

8. Communicate with parents/guardian, campus administrators and teachers regarding student progress

9.  To provide support services to students in terms of behavior, social and emotional.  This will be achieved by working collaboratively with guidance counselors, behavioral specialists, Day Treatment services, etc.

10. Coordinate the transitional procedures for students to return back to their home school.

11.  To be physically and emotionally able to carry out these responsibilities.

12.  Coordinate homebound services for the division (stipend provided).

Terms of Employment:  Eleven months.  Salary to be established by the School Board.

Evaluation:  Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of administrative personnel.
