Job Summary

Franklin County Public Schools is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as a High School Campus Principal. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning environment, dedicated to the success of students and staff, and capable of implementing innovative educational strategies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Educational Leadership

o   Provide visionary leadership to ensure a positive and inclusive school culture.

o   Collaborate with staff to develop and implement educational goals and strategies.

o   Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

o   Implement strategies to enhance student achievement and success.

o   Oversee the development and implementation of effective student support programs.

o   Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

o   Supervise and evaluate all student activities and athletic programs.

o   Maintain proper utilization, care, and attractiveness of buildings and grounds.

·         Curriculum Development

o   Lead efforts in curriculum development, alignment, and assessment.

o   Provide an instructional program consistent with the goals and objectives of the school division.

o   Organize and supervise matters related to student registration, scheduling, orientation, and the development of the
    master schedule.

o   Collaborate with teachers to implement innovative and engaging instructional practices.

o   Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum initiatives.

·         Community Engagement

o   Build strong relationships with parents, community members, and local businesses.

o   Actively engage in community events and initiatives.

o   Promote open communication and transparency with all stakeholders.

·         Budget Management

o   Develop and manage the school budget in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

o   Allocate resources effectively to support educational goals.

o   Supervise the maintenance of accurate bookkeeping and accounting of school funds.

o   Ensure financial accountability and transparency.

·         Personnel Management

o   Provide leadership and support for professional development opportunities.

o   Supervise and evaluate the performance of school staff, conduct regular performance evaluations and implement  

    strategies for growth.

o   Provide oversight and maintain staff accountability to division policies and regulations.

o   Promptly address personnel issues within FCPS, in conjunction with the Human Resources department, and
    maintain detailed documentation.

o   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the division’s policies and applicable laws.
    Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining
    employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

o   Participate in the recruitment, employment, assignment, non-renewal, and dismissal of certificate and classified
    personnel.

·         Compliance and Reporting

o   Ensure compliance with all state and federal education laws and regulations.

o   Prepare and submit required reports in a timely and accurate manner.

·         School Culture and Climate

o   Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and equity.

o   Implement strategies to enhance school climate and reduce disciplinary issues.

o   Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

 

Qualifications

·         Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field (Required).

·         Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience with a proven track record of leadership (Preferred).

·         Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative experience (Preferred).

·         Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.

·         Strong understanding of educational trends and best instructional practices.

·         Knowledge of state and federal education policies and regulations.

Terms of Employment

This position is a 12 month position. Salary to be established by the school board.

 

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with School Board’s policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
